Now back to the event:
This event is for people new to Bitcoin and Blockchain technology and also those who want to explore a little deeper of whats happening in the rapidly evolving Bitcoin and Blockchain world.
We’ll be tapping into the experience and knowledge of a number of Bitcoin Melbourne community members who’ve been delivering presentations and workshops on Bitcoin and Blockchain technology for quite some time.
We’ll also be hearing from businesses in the industry bringing the technology to market with real world products, services and useful applications.
6pm- 6.30pm- MBTC and Bitcoin Group’s Martin Davidson will give a speedy introduction to Bitcoin including an interactive experience of sending and receiving bitcoins using bluetooth technology.. You’ll learn some of the fundamentals of Blockchain technology and how to use Bitcoin safely and securely. Rubber will finally hit the road for you when you actually have some real ‘magic internet money’ on your phone!
6.30pm- 7pm- BlockZero Co-Founder, MBTC member and experienced Ethereum developer workshop facilitator Scott Phillips will present an introduction into the Ethereum Blockchain and how smart contracts actually work. What is ETH compared to ETC? Can we really Blockchain all the things? All will be revealed and light bulb moments are likely to follow.
7pm- 7.15pm- The author of industry renowned ‘The Week In Bitcoin’ newsletter and prolific speaker on the domestic and international Fintech/ Bitcoin and Blockchain conference circuit, Alan Tsen will give his insights into emerging trends in the industry, regulatory challenges and how Bitcoin and Blockchain technology is disrupting and reshaping the future of finance.
7.15pm- 7.45pm- Alan Tsen will be front of stage and joined by Brave New Coin, Blockfreight, Bitcoin Group, DSX and BlockZero welcoming questions from the audience.
7.45pm- 9pm- After nearly 2 hours of Bitcoin and Blockchain immersive fun, let’s cut loose with beers and pizzas sponsored by AWS and mingle with the “Talk and Trade Bitcoin” regulars at the MBTC outside BBQ decking area.
Note: People who only want to stay for just some parts of the Meetup are still most welcome to come by.
