Ahoy Silicon Beachers!
This is a FREE networking event for morning people. We tried this early morning networking coffee for the first time ever, last month. We had around 25 people attending and everyone loved it.
So we are doing it again, with added oomph! TwoSpace, our coworking partner has invited any interested Silicon Beacher coming to SiliconCoffee to stay on and cowork FREE for the day! Yes, that’s right cowork free in this beautiful location for the whole day.
Places are limited. Get in there early and put your name down to cowork. What do they say? Early bird gets the worm? Well, early Beachers get to cowork free.
Drinking #SiliconCoffee in the early hours of morning at TwoSpace @ Sir Basil can cause you to throw all caution to the waters of Docklands and launch your startup, then and there. After all it’s a coworking space.
We dare you to be there!
Will there be pitching?
Absolutely not. The idea behind this event is to allow you time to have one on one conversations with people and get to know them and find your team without interruptions. If you want to pitch, Come to the May Pitch Night. RSVP here – https://www.meetup.com/Melbourne-Silicon-Beach/events/crdsbpyxhbfb/
I hate ‘networking’. How do I even start talking to strangers?
Okay. Don’t call it ‘networking’. Call it mingling or connecting or whatever. “How can I help You?” is a good question to start the conversation. We are told that’s how conversations start in Silicon Valley.
Will there be free coffee, tea or breakfast? Heard the food is pretty good at Sir Basil?
What the heck! Would you like fries with that? Okay, if we get a sponsor we might have some free coffee for you. Sponsors read this http://bit.ly/SiliconSponsor
Why so early in the morning?
Many of our members work in the CBD or Docklands – this way they could go to work after. That’s why so early. But if you work for yourself on your own startup, small business or freelancing, feel free to cowork from the space FREE for the day.
I can’t make it this time. Will there be another #SiliconCoffee later?
We might make this a monthly event. Let’s see.
Why is there a snail in the coffee?
That’s the first cup of coffee Lene, the master coffee artist at Sir Basil served us. We think it symbolises the speed at which Melbourne Silicon Beach has grown. We have taken 7 years to grow to 9,400 members. That is snail pace. Time to accelerate. Don’t you think?
