If you respond to all your critics, you won’t have time to create things worth criticising. Never let reacting get in the way of creating. – T K Coleman
Hello Silicon Beachers,
Woohoo… last week we asked all of you to help us get to 4,000 before the Aug 6th MSB Drinks. We are there!!! Go Melbourne Silicon Beachers! Now that we have a significant crowd, we are going to launch Silicon Beach 2.0 – find out what we are hoping to do and come and be a part of it. Come to the Let’s learn Crowdfunding workshop on Saturday 22nd August. Please note this is not a free event. You have to RSVP on the meetup page and then pledge on the iPledg crowdfunding page to pledge your attendance. RSVP here.
Thanks heaps to all the helpers who stepped up to the plate and ran the July MSB Drinks meetup in July, in the absence of the usual organising team. I was at home, laid low with an acute attack of bronchitis (ah, the Melbourne winter … don’t you love it?), and second in command co-organiser Cullen had to rush to the airport to be somewhere else.
The meetup went ahead, without skipping a beat. It’s a true testimony to this amazing community when we have people voluntarily step up and take charge at a moment’s notice. I am so proud of all of you!
Special mention must be made of Anthony from DJ Main Event (the host for the night), Paul, Charlie & Alexar. Alexar even took to Periscoping the night so that I along with a few people around the world could follow the proceedings via the live stream. It was great to see the enthusiasm, which came across even on Periscope. If you are wondering what on earth Periscope is, download the app at periscope.tv and follow the Silicon Beach TV team channels (SiliconBeachMel, Alexar, AthulaBogoda)
Selected scopes will be archived on Silicon Beach TV YouTube channel for viewers around the world. Take your startup to the world with Silicon Beach TV.
Come prepared to pitch your startup or small business on the 90second pitch segment.
See you next Thursday.
