For the majority of growing Software Product Companies in Australia, whether starting out or scaling up there is a familiar problem ~ finding tech talent.
There is a labour shortage in Australia, and growing young tech companies feel it as they go through the early stages of getting their businesses off the ground and large established businesses suck up the majority of the talent.
The economics of finding employees or working with agencies onshore to bring your ideas to market is expensive, challenging and competitive. A lot of companies consider looking offshore to fulfill their development needs, the problem is that they often don’t even know where to start.
This brings a set of problems:
The simple things you don’t know
Where do I start?
What does good look like?
What should I be paying?
The legal requirements
What is IP and who owns it?
How do I set myself up for success?
How do I explain this to investors?
Even these are only small pieces of the puzzle, large companies with big budgets have tried and failed to build relationships with offshore technical teams.
What’s the event?
This event designed to help growing tech companies select and get the best out of offshore development teams and suppliers. Our goal is for attendees to walk out with practical knowledge of where to start, what to look out for and which questions to ask.
This is a free, collaborative event between Silicon Beach, YBF Ventures, Luna & EverestEngineering. We have a collective goal of helping to mature the market and protect growing tech companies from high risk engagements, hidden complexity and the paradox of choice when going offshore.
